For anyone who drinks Yerba Mate, you will know that a good mate (gourd) is a trusted friend who should always be by your side. a well used mate will become a living part of your yerba experience as it takes on the flavour of yerba.
our gourds will "weather" with use, and the colour will begin to tell the story of your many usages, so dont be alarmed by the colour changes.
the gourds need to be cured using the following process:
1. gather up your left over yerba leaves (only once you have drunk all the flavour from them, else what a waste!)
2.fill them into the gourd, and pour in hot water
3. leave overnight to stand
4.throw your leaves (please give them to your plants, there is lots of nutrients still in them) and scrape the inside clean with a teaspoon or simular
5. ready for use!!!
always remember to leave your mate to dry out between use in a sunny spot and you will get years of service
